The Ministry of Mines and Energy talked to its staff about human rights and companies

Ministry of Mines and Energy. Bogota D.C. November 29th, 2017. The Ministry of Mines and Energy organized an institutional training event known as "Human Rights and Companies" intended for public servants within the mining and energy sector.

This activity was carried out with the goal of promoting knowledge management within the entities that promote entrepreneurial development throughout the country, specifically involving the link between human rights and companies, in order to guarantee the continuation of the actions established by the national public policy on the subject.

As part of this workshop, the following topics were addressed: National Human Rights System, international references, guiding principles concerning Human Rights and companies, National Plan for Human Rights and Companies, progress made in the construction of strategic guidelines for the mining and energy sector on the subject of Human Rights and companies.

Representatives from the Office of the Public Defender, the Office of the Presidential Advisor for Human Rights and the Ministry of Mines and Energy were responsible for sharing the relevant information.

This event took place on November 28th and included the participation of 15 public officials and contractors from the Ministry of Mines and Energy.
