Ministry of Mines and Energy. Puerto Asis, Putumayo. May 18th, 2018. As part of the commitment made by the Ministry of Mines and Energy to establish a different kind of dialog and provide elements for better decision-making within the framework of implementing the Strategy for Territorial Interactions in the mining and energy sector, acting together with the Mayor of Puerto Asis in Putumayo, information exchange and conversations were organized with the involvement of communities from the Puerto Vega – Teteye corridor (Los Álamos, Campo Quemado, Horizonte and Las Delicias) as well as from the Puerto Asís - La Alea corridor (Montebello, Peneya and Monteverde).
These events included sharing the scope of the Strategy for Interactions and, in particular, the pillar of strengthening capacities wherever the Ministry of Mines and Energy can count on the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) as an ally.
The communities and the Ministry agreed to work together in order to strengthen the municipal community for local development, by carrying out training events about formulating projects and dealing with matters of productivity and competitiveness.
These events involved the heads of Community Action Boards, the head of Asojuntas, representatives from the National Hydrocarbons Agency and the Ministry of the Interior, along with councilmen and other community figures.
With these signs of progress, we keep working to achieving better sector-territory relations.
